Vymeros (“we”, “us”) operates a marketplace that helps individuals and businesses in Canada and the United States identify, value, buy, sell and swap items. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Name, email, password (hashed by our identity provider), phone (optional), location text (city / region), account type (Individual or Business).
- Optional profile photo, business details and verification information you submit.
- Legal acknowledgements (which version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted, and when).
Listing photos and descriptions
- Photos you upload for AI Scan, listings and phone status checks.
- Titles, descriptions, prices, categories, specifications and quantity.
- AI-generated fields (identified name, brand, model, category, condition, estimated value, demand, recommendations, confidence score).
Messages
- Content of messages, offers and swap proposals exchanged between users, including any images attached.
- Read state, timestamps and conversation participants.
Approximate location
- City or region you enter, and coarse coordinates you supply for the marketplace map and distance features.
- We do not require precise GPS coordinates.
Device and usage information
- Device type, operating system, browser, language, referrer, IP address and pages viewed.
- Actions such as scans, listings created, saves, offers and reports.
- Diagnostic logs and error reports.
Payment information (future)
- Vymeros does not currently process payments. If protected payments or paid promotions are introduced, we will use a regulated payment processor (for example Stripe) and update this Policy before collecting card, bank or tax information.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate and improve the Service, including AI Scan, listings, messaging and swaps.
- Personalize what you see (search, filters, recommendations, distance).
- Verify identity, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms and safety rules.
- Send transactional emails and in-app notifications you have opted into.
- Analyze aggregated usage to improve performance and features.
3. Supabase and other service providers
We use Supabase for authentication, database and file storage; a hosted AI Gateway to run AI Scan, listing generation and specialty analysis; and email and analytics providers to deliver notifications and understand product performance. These providers process information under our instructions and their own security controls. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
- Account information is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to satisfy legal, tax and fraud-prevention obligations.
- Listings, scan reports and messages are retained while your account is active; deleted listings may be kept for a short period in backups.
- Support requests are retained to resolve issues and improve the Service.
5. Account deletion
You can request account deletion at any time via the Contact & Support form (category: Account deletion). We will confirm your identity, delete or anonymize personal information we are not legally required to keep, and remove your listings and messages from public view.
6. Privacy requests
Depending on where you live (for example California, Québec, or other Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@vymeros.com or use the Contact form (category: Privacy request). We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
7. Security limitations
We use industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit, hashed passwords, role-based database policies (RLS) and access controls. No online service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for reviewing what you share in listings and messages.
8. International data transfers
Vymeros is used in Canada and the United States. Personal information may be processed in the United States, Canada or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and data-processing agreements.
9. Children’s privacy
Vymeros is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 to use the Service. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Vymeros, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We will update this Policy from time to time. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was most recently revised.
